Tell Wyre: Financial censorship is dangerous and wrong
The sex worker-led payment service SpankPay recently announced their decision to stop operating due to a targeted shutdown from payment processor Wyre. We’re calling it what it is—financial discrimination. Sign the petition to tell Wyre to reverse this decision.

Stop making false promises.
This is yet another example of sex workers being cut off from platforms they use to make a living and keep themselves safe. It is especially disheartening to see a service like Wyre making false promises of financial access and inclusion while bringing down the moral ban hammer just like Big Banks, Big Tech and other payment processors like Stripe, Square, and PayPal that have been betraying marginalized communities for a long time.
Wyre says “our worst nightmare is that a new generation of brilliant thinkers and creators will wait on the sidelines, or get crowded out by legacy institutions, because they don’t have the resources to bring their ideas to life. Wyre was founded to inspire these passionate builders to create products that will fuel the future.”
Wyre, you are your own worst nightmare! 😱
Everyone deserves access to financial services and should be able to make a living. Sign the petition to payment processor Wyre telling them to (a) reverse this decision and (b) publicly commit to implementing a non-discrimination policy to avoid situations like this in the future.
